The Localism Act 2011
The Localism Act 2011 requires all Parish Councils to adopt a code of conduct which sets out the behaviour expected of councillors when acting in their role as a councillor.
Aldbrough Parish Council resolved to adopt the East Riding of Yorkshire Council's (ERYC) code of conduct which can be viewed here
A Standards Committee operates to guide the East Riding of Yorkshire Council, and town and parish councils within the East Riding area, on the promotion of high standards of conduct by members. More information can be found on the ERYC Standards Committee web page.
In addition members are also required to declare their pecuniary and non-pecuniary interests. A Register of Members Interests form must be completed and be available for inspection at all reasonable hours. A link to view these documents is provided for all members on the Councillors web page and copies together with further information can be found on the ERYC Parish and town councils web page.
